The NSW Erosion & Sediment Control Site was launched in June 2025 and is developed to provide hands-on field-based learning in best practice erosion and sediment control.
The site includes 10 custom built bays and 1 channel to demonstrate and measure a range of erosion and sediment controls.
The site is a unique independent facility located at the Greater Sydney Local Land Services Demonstration Farm in the heart of the Hawkesbury Region at Richmond.
This training facility is a valuable resource for industries required to manage soil and water including:
construction and infrastructure
mining and resources
agriculture
local government and regulatory authorities
or anyone dealing with sediment controls.
This facility supports flood recovery, improves industry compliance and helps safeguard NSW soils and waterways.
Turf NSW has developed this site inconjunction with the International Erosion Control Association, Australiasia (IECAA).
Site Hire
The NSW ESC site is available for private hire and the facilities available include:
Demonstration Area
Ten demonstration bays with varying control mediums. Each bay has a water control outlet running over the bay to a collection pit at the end of the bay
One channel with different control mediums
Use of 6x3m marquee
Use of the grassed area around the bays for sponsors demonstration, flags, banners etc
Portable PA system available
Training Room Facility
A fully equipped training room with AV setup
Capacity for 75 in theatre seating format or 50 in classroom format
